Cristiano Ronaldo infected with Covid-19

Lisbon.

Cristiano Ronaldo is infected with Covid-19, confirmed the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) in a statement.

“The Portuguese international is doing well, without symptoms, and in isolation”, it can be read in the statement, which states that the Juventus striker “was released from the work of the National Team after a positive test for COVID-19”.

The 35-year-old Portuguese international will miss the Portuguese team’s game this Wednesday against Sweden, counting for the group stage of the League of Nations football.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro, was the first person informed by the FPF of her son’s positive Covid-19 test. Elma Aveiro, Ronaldo’s sister, has also reacted and says that the player is doing well and that he will repeat the test “because he has no symptoms”.

Following the positive case, the remaining players underwent new tests this Tuesday morning, all with a negative result, and are available to Fernando Santos for training this afternoon, in the City of Football.
The game against Sweden, counting for the qualification phase of the League of Nations, is scheduled for this Wednesday, at 19:45, in Alvalade.

It is recalled that recently Cristiano Ronaldo was accused of not complying with the rules against Covid-19 in his gym chain . Situation was reported on a Spanish television program.
