पोर्तुगलमा कोरोनाबाट संक्रमितको संख्या ३३१ पुगेको छ । यसमध्ये एकजना नेपाली रहेको पोर्तुगीस सञ्चार माध्यमले जनाएका छन् । फारोमा रहेको इबी २/३ साओ तेओतोनिओ विद्यालयमा ३ महिला सहित ७४ जना नेपालीलाई क्वारेन्टाइनमा राखिएको छ ।
An 80-year-old person died in Portugal as a result of coronavirus infection, the Minister of Health announced this Monday.
He is an 80-year-old man who had “several associated pathologies” and had been hospitalized for several days at the Hospital de Santa Maria, in Lisbon, said the minister, who conveyed condolences to family and friends.
In Portugal, 331 people have been infected to date with the Covid-19 pandemic virus, according to the daily bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health.
President of the Republic condolences
The President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, lamented the death of the first victim in Portugal of the Covid-19 pandemic, and presented “heartfelt condolences” to the family.
“The President of the Republic offers his heartfelt condolences to the family of the first mortal victim of the Covid-19 pandemic in Portugal, whose death has just been confirmed by the health authorities”.
The number of people infected with the new coronavirus has risen to 331, 86 more than those recorded on Sunday, the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) announced today.
According to the bulletin on the epidemiological situation in Portugal, released today at 12.30pm, there are 2,908 suspected cases, of which 374 are awaiting laboratory results.
According to DGS, there are three recovered cases.
The data indicate that of the 331 confirmed cases, more than half (174) are recovering at home, 139 are hospitalized, 18 of which in Intensive Care Units (ICU).
According to the bulletin, there are 4,592 contacts under surveillance by health authorities. Since 1 January, 2,908 suspected cases have been registered.
Currently, there are 18 active transmission chains in Portugal, four more than on Sunday.
Among the infected patients are a boy and a girl aged up to nine years old, 10 boys and 17 girls aged between 10 and 19 years old, and 38 young people aged between 20 and 29 years old.
Covid 19: Portugal Update
There are 12 cases of infected patients over 80 and 28 between 70 and 79.
It is among the population aged between 40 and 49 years that most cases are registered (68), according to the DGS bulletin, which indicates the existence of 65 cases between 30 and 39 years and 52 cases between 50 and 59 years.
There are still 37 cases recorded between 60 and 69 years old.
Lisbon and Tagus Valley is the region with the highest number of confirmed cases (142), followed by the North (138), the Central region (31) and the Algarve (13). There is one case in the Azores.
There are five confirmed cases abroad, according to the daily epidemiological bulletin.
Alentejo and Madeira are the only regions in the country with no cases registered by DGS.
DGS data show that 16 cases result from the import of the virus from Spain, 14 from Italy, nine from France, five from Switzerland, one from Andorra, one from Belgium and one from Germany and Austria.
According to DGS, more than half of patients positive for the new coronavirus have coughing (53 percent), fever (31 percent), headache (19 percent), muscle pain (18 percent), generalized weakness (13 percent) and breathing difficulties (9 percent).
The regional governments of Madeira and the Azores decided to impose a quarantine period on all passengers who land in the archipelagos, while the Government of the Republic advised against travelling to the islands.
Other measures had already been taken in Portugal to contain the pandemic, such as the suspension of air links with Italy, the most affected country in Europe.
